Aston Martin reintroduces the heavily-updated DBX

This is the new Aston Martin DBX707, the British firm’s new flagship SUV.

The DBX has been around for a while now, having first made its debut in 2020 when it commenced battle with other super-luxurious, super-rapid SUVs like the Bentley Bentayga and Lamborghini Urus.

Since 2022, the most desirable version of the DBX has been the range-topping ‘707’ model.

Now Aston Martin has revealed that the DBX will now ONLY be available with that 707 PS powertrain and in ultra-sumptuous form, as it goes even more exclusive.

And the manufacturer has also treated the DBX to an extensive cabin makeover as the SUV moves further upmarket.

Powering the DBX707, and what Aston Martin calls the ‘star of the show’, is a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 chucking out power of 707 PS and 900 Nm of torque, and which is mated to a 9-speed ‘wet clutch’ automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive.

That unit will accelerate the DBX707 from 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds and then on to a top speed of 193 mph. Aston’s engineers have also now honed the electronic dampers and air springs to improve response and body roll.

The interior of the ‘Supercar of SUVs’ has been fully transformed with the inclusion of a brand new infotainment system and elevated levels of swank. You get a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen and 12.3-inch digital cockpit as well as new chrome materials, veneers and a simplified centre console.

An Aston Martin spokesperson adds: “Every area of the interior has been enhanced, from the new steering wheel to redesigned D-pull door release handles and elegant vertical air vents, both of which are now matched to bright chrome or dark chrome interior jewellery. New front door veneer panels are larger and available in a variety of new materials, including gloss smoked oak, gloss titanium mesh and updated ziricote wood, piano black and carbon fibre veneers.”

There’s a new 14 speaker surround sound audio system as standard, or you can opt for an even more powerful Bowers & Wilkins set-up.

The DBX707 should also prove safer than before. The driver assistance and safety kit has been upgraded to include fully integrated cameras in the mirrors to support the 3D parking functionality, for example.

As you can probably imagine, the DBX707 ain’t cheap, starting at around £198,000 to purchase outright.
